FAQS
Academic focuses on academic vocabulary, essay writing, and research-based reading. General Training focuses on practical, workplace, and social English. That’s why students usually take Academic, while immigrants/workers often take General Training.
Unlike PTE/TOEFL, IELTS Speaking is always face-to-face with an examiner, which many students find more natural than talking to a computer.
You receive a score from 0-9 in each skill. The average of these becomes your overall band score (e.g., 6.5, 7.0).
Within 3 business days, much faster than many other exams.
There is no limit on the number of times you can take the IELTS test. You may register for a new test as soon as you feel ready. However, you must pay the full test fee each time. Some countries also allow IELTS One Skill Retake, where you can retake only one section (Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking) instead of the full test
